Argyle Shores Provincial Park (attempt #2 at posting)

So, this was another one of those amazing and lucky finds.  We were driving in the general direction of the Confederation Bridge so we could head back off the island when it was decided that we should stop and make dinner first.  As mentioned in the previous post, adults made dinner and joined the kids on the "beach" to eat.  The tide was waaaaaay out, exposing loads of critters who would normally be hiding under a foot or three of water and the kids were in heaven.

They found loads of hermit crabs, many of whom were going about their daily business of fighting over new shells to live in, big crabs, an American Eel that startled Mike when it jumped out of a clam shell, starfish, a sand dollar, little shrimp and loads of thick, sucking mud that wanted desperately to keep our flip flops.  Matthew nearly lost a leg on one step and then figured out that it feels great to run around and get sucked in right over the ankles.  A couple of hours there left us at sunset so we washed in a freezing stream and pulled out.

The Confederation Bridge in day time seems like a long adventure (fun!) and at night it feels longer.  You could still see a loooooong ways out and watch the few boats.  Very cool at night.  Now we are pulled over in a tiny Petro Canada / gift shop just on the New Brunswick side of the bridge for the night.  Exhausted yet again but happy!

Sleep well!
