Cornerbrook, NFLD

Thank you Irving for a good night stay in your parking lot.  Interesting and deserted at 11pm so we closed our eyes and rested.  We woke surrounded by cars and bustling people everywhere.  I guess that's what happens when you stop at the first gas station past the ferry.  We thought it would stay quiet as it's a ways out but everyone was friendly and we were able to is their bathroom.

We hit the highway and made Cornerbrook before 10am.  We had a tip that the Canadian Tire in town has a free pump out so we stopped there.  Mike pumped out while I climbed in the tub for a real quick shower.  Nothing like scraping four days of travel off yourself in the middle of a busy CDN Tire parking lot lol. We sent the kids over to the Bulk Barn with $5 each and they were busy for a good twenty minutes. Happy as kids in a ... well, in a candy store I guess.

We found the house belonging to Mike's aunt (who is away currently but know we are squatting there) and parked the trailer.  Nice view of a cove in town and we can roam around the surrounding hills for a day or two without dragging Dragon everywhere.

A little drive into town with a stop at a local park/community centre/fire hall/senior's centre and then we fired off to Marble Mountain to book our Zipline tour for tomorrow morning.  Super nice people there and we are all booked in for zip-lining and some high-ropes adventures.  http://www.marbleziptours.com

The people there suggested that we head on down to Bottle Cove Beach, about an hour away.  We grabbed dinner to-do for us all and headed out.  Much colder and windier out there but we found a few hours of adventure in the water, rocks and sand.  Many more creatures, logs and shells to find there.  With the chill and the late hour we jumped I'm the truck and drove around a bit.  Mike found us a cool little fisherman's wharf to poke around a bit and we saw some cool Ravens, huge shells, loads of huge fish-heads and skeletons and there was a ginormous lobster claw too.  We at have kept that one.  See pic below.  Now we are back at the trailer, the kids are washed on our tiny remaining dribbles of water that are left in the tank and we are getting ready to tuck in for the night.

Just a quick note on the water, there was no hose at the Canadian Tire to refill our tanks so Mike dumped in the last bits from our blue drinking water tank.  We figured on filling up with the hose at the property but, with the boil-order on for the area, we did not want to introduce unknown bacteria into our tanks.  So, we are drinking bottled water and hoping to not need anything more than our last little bit until we reach Gros Morne in two days.  No prob.  Okay, only a little problem.  One we can work with at least!  Let us know when you start to smell us and we'll jump in with the fish for a while.

Goodnight!
